Michael has over forty years of broad experience in Architectural planning, design, project management, production, and contract administration. He has actively led efforts to identify and implement new technologies and cutting-edge project delivery practices. He has also guided development of firm standards and training including creation of intranets, comprising firm production methodologies.
Michael coined the term and introduced the concept of Lean Architecture, defined as the “ongoing process of rethinking and improving architectural methodology”. www.leanarchitecture.com
An accomplished speaker, Mr. Czap has spoken on Lean Architecture and advanced Project Delivery processes as well as Building Information Modeling (BIM) at over 70 industry venues. He co-authored the book Lean Architecture: Excellence in Project Delivery as well as the chapter on construction documents in the AIA's - The Architect's Handbook of Professional Practice, 15th Edition, which includes a section on Lean Architecture. Michael has contributed articles to the AIA Best Practices, Chapter 13, and the AIA Practice Management Digest.
